About Jazzfest

The Jazzfest which was created in 1978, has been organized in Calcutta and remains an important part of the city’s cultural heritage.  

The festival was revived by the non-profit society Congo Square in 2002 making it the longest running Jazz Festival in India. Since 2014, the Jazzfest (jazzfest.in) has been organized by Littlei with the support of Congo Square at the Dalhousie Institute. The festival has hosted musicians from over 30 different countries and continues to be the only Jazz Festival in Eastern India.

Since the Covid-19 pandemic the 2020 and 2021 editions of the Jazzfest has been organised as a digital festival.
